In Little Rock, Arkansas, Garland Elementary School sat abandoned by the school district for over 15 years until 2017, when its rehabilitation as a public charter school began. The Collegiate Gothic school was constructed in 1924 with a major addition in the 1950s.

Post Oak successfully nominated the building to the National Register of Historic Places as part of its historic tax credit rehabilitation. Additionally, Post Oak was able to use specific strategies to navigate the dated building’s transformation into a modern, functional place of education.

Upon its completion, the $11M project created a state-of-the-art educational facility for elementary students in Little Rock, beautifully housed in one of the city’s oldest remaining elementary schools.
