Ellis Mumford-Russell

Founder

Ellis holds an M.S. in Historic Preservation, with an emphasis on preservation planning, from the University of Pennsylvania.

Ellis’s professional experience includes private historic preservation consulting, preservation education, project review at a State Historic Preservation Office, and architectural salvage.

Ellis guides projects through the historic tax credit process and strategically implements the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards. She employs a client-focused, collaborative approach to ensure that not only are the NPS reviewers happy, but the client meets their goals as well. Through attention to detail and creative problem-solving, Ellis has seen dozens of projects through to Part 3 certification.

In addition to wrangling historic tax credit projects, Ellis has her hands in design guidelines and other preservation planning efforts. She serves as the managing partner at Post Oak.


Alison Dunleavy

Alison Dunleavy

Senior Associate

Alison holds an M.S. in Historic Preservation from Clemson University/College of Charleston, where she specialized in architectural conservation.

With a background in historical research and architectural conservation, Alison can effectively navigate a variety of projects. She utilizes her archival research skills and applies her knowledge of architectural conservation to prepare conditions assessments and historic structure reports. Alison manages historic tax credit rehabilitation projects by communicating the requirements and expectations of a successful rehabilitation project to designers, owners, and other project partners. She coordinates project deliverables to meet critical milestones required by the State Historic Preservation Offices with whom she works. Her thorough understanding of the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Rehabilitation provides her with tools to ensure projects run efficiently and successfully. 

Alison was elected Chair of the Association for Preservation Technology - Central Plains Chapter in 2020 and was recently a guest lecturer for the Clemson University/College of Charleston MSHP program.


Rebecca Wallisch architectural historian

Rebecca Wallisch

Senior Architectural Historian

Rebecca completed her MS in Historic Preservation from the University of Texas at Austin.

She has extensive experience performing windshield-, intensive- and reconnaissance-level historical, architectural, and cultural resource management investigations. This includes conducting fieldwork, research, and surveys; identifying and documenting cultural resources; and developing historic contexts, National Register of Historic Places nominations, and HABS/HAER-level documentation. Rebecca has conducted dozens of historic resources surveys in Oregon, Oklahoma, and throughout Texas in rural, urban, and suburban environments.

To Post Oak, Rebecca brings a passion for historical research and telling the whole story of our shared cultural heritage.


Irene Allender historic preservation consultant

Irene Allender

Associate

Irene holds a Master of Architecture from the University of Texas at Arlington. Her professional experience has included managing architectural projects from schematic design through construction, historic preservation, adaptive reuse, and a creative approach to accessibility planning and inspection.

Irene’s most recent professional experience was in the nonprofit sector, advocating for better preservation ordinances and laws, and educating the public towards an appreciation of historic buildings and structures and a better understanding about historic preservation.


Rachel Alison

Associate

Rachel holds an M.S. in Historic Preservation from Roger Williams University.

Rachel has worked in the private and nonprofit sectors of historic preservation and has professional experience on both the development and consulting sides of historic tax credit projects, as well as professional experience with archival research and nominating properties to the National Register of Historic Places. This breadth of experience makes her an effective communicator with all key players at every part of the rehabilitation process and allows her to successfully guide projects from inception to completion.

Rachel enjoys creative problem-solving and taking an individualized approach to each project. She is passionate about people-based preservation and believes in the power of historic preservation to bolster vibrant local communities and economies.


Megan Warley McDonald

Architectural Historian

Megan holds a Master of Heritage Preservation (M.H.P) and an M.A. in History from Georgia State University.

With a professional background in both Historic Preservation and Public History, Megan’s diverse skillset and experiences include archival research, National Register nominations, oral history, and historic preservation education. Much of her interest and past research has revolved around preserving the historic resources of underrepresented communities.

Megan is an experienced researcher who enjoys writing cohesive and meaningful historical narratives and crafting compelling arguments for the significance of historic resources. She is passionate about seeing historic buildings creatively and adaptively reused.

Dub Sutherland

Advisor

Dub represents both established and start-up private companies, financial institutions, non-bank lenders, and investment funds in day to day management. He also handles transactions, as well as all phases of the business lifecycle – including formation, acquisitions and dispositions, mergers, conventional debt financing, equity and debt securities offerings. In addition, he is experienced with commercial negotiations and transactions, executive compensation plans, and corporate governance.

Pat Kennedy

Advisor

Mr. Kennedy’s practice has included preparation of securities offerings under federal and state securities laws as well as public company periodic reporting. His practice has been particularly concentrated in the representation of banks and bank holding companies and other financial intermediaries. In addition to this general corporate and securities work, he has represented these entities and their shareholders, directors and officers in a broad range of matters, including regulatory enforcement, special corporate investigations, directors and officers and fidelity bond claims, Bank Secrecy Act and currency transactions compliance, Community Reinvestment Act strategy, mergers, acquisition and strategic planning, corporate governance and restructuring and state and federal banking law compliance.

Patrick’s broad based corporate and financial services practice also utilizes creative financing structures and other local, state and federal incentives such as the Historic Tax Credit and New Markets Tax Credit Programs in the representation of Banks, Project Sponsors, Borrowers, Economic Development Corporations and Community Development Entities.

 
 
Ann Benson McGlone

Ann McGlone

Partner Emeritus

Ann McGlone has worked to create and preserve great urban spaces for over 30 years. She brings to the firm balance and consistency based on her experience in both the private and public sectors. She has been restoration architect on such prestigious projects as the restoration of Grand Central Terminal in New York City, the Willard Hotel in Washington, DC and the Fairmount Hotel in San Antonio, Texas. Ann has served the public sector as the Historic Preservation Officer for San Antonio, Texas where she oversaw design review of the famous Riverwalk, 26 historic districts, and all municipal projects. As the former City Manager of the City of Alamo Heights, Texas she brings to the firm her management experience and firsthand knowledge of municipal government. 

Nationally recognized for her preservation work, Ann had the honor of serving on the President's Advisory Council on Historic Preservation (ACHP) from 2008-2010. She was a member of the Board of Directors of the National Alliance of Preservation Commissions from 2002-2010, and served as Chair in 2007-2009.
