Post Oak Preservation Solutions collaborated with the City of Pilot Point to update the Design Guidelines for the Pilot Point Heritage District, a nine-block area encompassing the city’s historic downtown square. With anticipated rapid growth due to expanding exurban development from Dallas and Denton County, the updated guidelines serve as a crucial tool in managing change while preserving the area’s character and encouraging growth. By emphasizing stakeholder engagement, clear graphics, and user-friendly language, the project team ensured the guidelines catered to the specific needs of the district. Additionally, training sessions with the historic review board and public engagement events were conducted to foster understanding and community involvement in implementing the guidelines effectively.
